"Dear PocketMac,

I would like to express my satisfaction with your PocketMac for BlackBerry synchronization software. Your product has rendered my BlackBerry 7290 doubly useful: already it allowed me to maintain calendar and contacts in tight coordination with my Embassy office, which is equipped with Microsoft Outlook, but, thanks to you, my Entourage calendar on my personal Mac laptop is now part of the trio, updating them and always up to date. PocketMac for BlackBerry has simplified my life and given greater efficiency to the office.

Thanks for developing such a fine product.

Sincerely,

Aziz Mekouar"

"I got rid of my Treo 600 (remember, the one I kissed here) as I had too many crashes and I realized that out of its features what I used all the time was mainly email. So I came back to a Blackberry which is orders of magnitude better for email (better keyboard and email is pushed to it permanently, no need to "get mail").

I was just very frustrated not being able to sync it with my Mac, which has just been solved thanks to the team of PocketMac who released PocketMac for BlackBerry.

I paid $30 and the Sync worked perfectly in minutes. Cool."

Romain Durand, PocketMac Customer "In fact I succeded installing pocket mac BB...I have now sync[hed] the BB without any pb : the product is very good and efficient."

"I feel so... connected. You are great! ...in any event I can now synchronize my Windows PC at work with the Blackberry 7230 and then sync the Blackberry with my PowerMac running Panther 10.3.5."

"Absolutely perfect. Just what I needed :-)"
Joseph A. Pence, PocketMac Customer "Since I do not know who (perhaps several) was behind the 'PocketMac Team'
signature line that I have had the pleasure of corresponding with over the last few days, I would like to tell you how extremely pleased I have been with your service, your professionalism and your promptness in keeping me informed of the actions being taken and the status of my issue!

I have paid hundreds, even thousands of dollars for software packages in my company and have not received the level of attention I experienced with the PocketMac Team, my hat is off to you all!

But to further underscore my compliment to you, now that I am using the PocketMac for Blackberry software, it has far exceeded my expectations for
simplicity of installation, ease of use and it does exactly as advertised! Outstanding and Well Done!

Now that I have PocketMac installed on both of my G5's, I will be purchasing another license for my Powerbook and iBook!

Sincerely,

"Let me begin by saying thanks! I purchased my BlackBerry and turned it back into Nextel within the first 10 days. Why? Well I am a Mac user being forced into using a PC with Lotus Notes. After finding PocketMac, I again got a BB
from work hoping to simplify my life and merge my Lotus contact list with my Mac contacts. This program was worth every penny!! Not very often do
you ever find a product that does exactly as it is billed... but this is one for sure. I think I would rather cut off my arm than give up my PocketMac
and BlackBerry.

Thanks for the follow up with the updates, and thanks for a GREAT
product.

"Technical support at Pocket Mac have gone far further than any tech support I have ever come across particularly in the IT World. They understand the difficulties I have, and are trying on several paths to help me...I have confidence that PM will stay with me and that is a fantastic compliment for a modest price but really useful tool.

So feel free to use me.......or the quotes...or even as a case study....

I would buy stuff from you guys again....shame you don't make a PC operating system!

You guys are great...energy and staying in-touch!

Also it is charging the Blackberry......I thought USB charging via a Mac was not supported, and was only available to those with PC's. This is a huge bonus. You guys are the best. Thank you so much for this software, I would not own a Blackberry if it were not for PocketMac.

Thanks for staying on top of this and getting it fixed for me. Great support"

"I was given an HP Jornada 548 color pocket PC a few months ago. Of course, to really be able to use one of these, it is necessary to be able to sync it with one's desktop computer. The Jornada comes with a Windows program called ActiveSync. This program does not work on Macs.

…[PocketMac] 3.2 is FANTASTIC. Not will it sync to the Jornada via USB, it also syncs via Bluetooth and 802.11. I don't have Bluetooth, but I do have wi-fi, so I tried it. Sitting in my easy chair in my living room, I switched-on the Jornada, went to the connection icon, tapped it, and instantly PocketMac launched itself on my desktop Mac and the two started to sync. I was elated! Not only That, but in the new version, PocketMac let you choose the applications to sync with and this includes iApps. I can pick Entourage or iCal for the scheduler function, and the Mac Addresses app for the contacts. One can also pick the Mac Mail app for managing E-mail, and ITunes for music, and iPhoto for pictures! Sunday, I went to the 2004 planning meeting for my Alfa Romeo Owner's Club, and I entered all of the clubs upcoming events for the calendar year of 2004 in my Jornada's scheduler. I came home and decided to up-link this info to my Mac so I could use it in the magazine. At first, I thought i would just uplink it as text, then, I thought, what the hell, lets see how this transfer process works with iCal (Ha!). I was flabbergasted. Not only did it sync-up in just a few seconds, when I went to 2004 in iCal all of the club's activities for next year were there in a new calendar category called "PocketMac"! Every date, every time, every location and every note from the Jornada were perfectly transferred to their correct places in iCal. Thus encouraged, I decided to see if I could download all of my contacts in the Mac Address Book to the Jornada. I went to preferences, chose Address Book as the Mac application and hit the sync button. When I was finished, every name, telephone number E-mail address, street address and note were not only now in my Jornada, but all of them are in the correct fields as well!

To say I'm impressed with this piece of software would be an understatement. PocketMac 3.2 makes interfacing a Windows CE Pocket PC with a Mac at least as easy as it is on it's native Windows PC platform. So far, the compatibility between the Pocket PC's apps and the Mac apps is as flawless as if they were made to interface with each other (which they weren't). I highly recommend this piece of software. If you have been somewhat reluctant to buy into the Pocket PC due to possible problems interfacing with your Mac, worry no more. This thing is darn near perfect!"

"I purchased a Siemens SX56 phone based on the 2002 version of Microsoft's Pocket PC software. I was thrilled with the functionality of the phone but wanted connectivity to the Mac and need to have software that was written for OSX. I purchased an early version of the Software and even though it was limited, it was way better than I expected. When 3.0 came out I updated immediately and was floored buy the improvements. version 3.0 exceeded my expectations. I was able to sync my address book, I was able to sync with I-cal, I was able to load new software all via my conduit. With only a minor update I was able to load the Apple theme on my phone.

All this without having to sync to purchasing a "PC". Thanks for making a wicked piece of software and backing it up with some kick ass support."

"Add one more happy and amazed customer to your list. It is so simple I thought it couldn't work. Low and behold not only does it work but as a new Mac use who missed his PDA. I can assure potential customers. It is superior to Activesync. Eat your heart out Microsoft.

I love to see a product that does what it says. It's even better to have bought a product that does what it says and more."

"I was able to successfully sync (without any error messages) all of my
contacts, calendar and tasks to Entourage. I sync my Motorola MPX-200
Smartphone to my Windows 2000 PC in my office every day with ActiveSync, and needed to transfer all of this information to my iMac at home once a week. I have close to 1000 contacts and three years worth of calendar entries, and I was able to transfer all of these from my Smartphone to Entourage in 10 minutes. Great software!"

"Absolutely, you may quote me. I am using an Audiovox SMT 5600 Smartphone. At work I am on a MS Windows 2000 Professional machine using Outlook for my mail and calendar needs. At home I use a G4 mac with OS 10.3.7 and I have Office for Mac with Entourage as well as iCal and Mail. Your product does a fine job of allowing me to keep all of my contacts, files I take with me, and e-mail consistent across machines and across platforms seamlessly. I look forward to updates and future improvements (especially for multiple devices on one computer)."

From David Dickey, PocketMac Customer-- "I just downloaded the GoBetween for Entourage and am happy to report that it worked like a charm. All my contacts, tasks and events synced perfectly. Thanks for yet another great app."

Here's a brief sampling of some of the highlights and standouts...

Forbes.com's Arik Hesseldahl said...

"Long have I loved my many Apple Computer PowerMac and PowerBook. I've used a Mac about as long as there has been a Mac. This went on for two years until I got my very own BlackBerry 7230. For me the time had come to break the Palm habit. But there was one significant problem: BlackBerries don't talk to the Mac.

But finally there is a program that gets the Mac and the BlackBerry together. It's called PocketMac BlackBerry, and it comes from the folks who created the first software to let Microsoft's Pocket PCs to talk to Macs.

At the outset I should say I like this program...

It also works with Now Contact and Now Up-To-Date, though I didn't try it with those applications.

One feature I liked was the syncing of "notes" from the BlackBerry to the Mac. I use this mostly to take down phone numbers or new addresses when I meet people. I like how PocketMac syncs the notes with the Mac application Stickies, which emulates the behavior of paper Post-It notes. When you write a note on the BlackBerry, it pops up directly on your Mac desktop in Stickies, where you can decide what to do with the information right away so it's not forgotten.

PocketMac BlackBerry sells for $30 and can be downloaded from PocketMac.com. It supports nearly every BlackBerry device going back to the 957--some older models require a special serial port attachment--as well as the newest phone-like handhelds such as the 7100t. I have no problem recommending it

PC Magazine (November 2004)
In giving PocketMac for BlackBerry 3 of 5 stars, Sascha Segan wrote...

"BlackBerrys and Apples make a great fruit salad. But until now, they haven't made for great PIM connectivity. With PocketMac For BlackBerry, PocketMac sweetens the Mac/Berry relationship, allowing syncing of address book, calendar, notes, and task data from OS X's own built-in PIM applications, Microsoft Entourage, or Now Contacts/Up-To-Date.

PocketMac For BlackBerry works, and that's going to be enough for most people. We synced contacts, calendars, tasks, and notes with Entourage 2004 quickly and easily, both through iSync and through PocketMac's own application.

Is PocketMac For BlackBerry better than the BlackBerry Web Client? You bet...it works with almost all BlackBerry models, and it's a must-have for every Mac owner with a RIM handheld."

CNET (May 5, 2004)
In giving PocketMac iPod 8 out of 10 (Very Good), CNET's Troy Dreier said...

"Carrying around both a PDA and an iPod can make for an unwieldy package, but you can lighten your load with PocketMac iPod Edition, which enables your iPod to do double duty. This handy program lets you transport and view important info while you're out of the office, but you still won't be able to use the iPod to answer e-mail or add to documents.

Once installed, the program is fairly effortless to use. On Windows machines, PocketMac starts up every time you connect your iPod, and it lets you sync Microsoft Outlook contacts, calendars, unread e-mail, tasks, text notes, and Word documents. On Macs, it works as a plug-in for iSync so that you can sync all the items listed above, as well as stickies and Adobe Acrobat docs.

We found PocketMac quite handy and easy to use...

In giving PocketMac Pro 4 (of 5 mice), MacWorld said...
"What a difference a year makes. PocketMac Pro is now a mature, simple, and feature-rich product. Click to install, restart, plug your PocketPC's cradle into the USB port (or activate a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection), and you're ready to sync. Version 3.3 provides two-way sync support for Apple's iCal and Address Book, Microsoft Entourage, and Now Software's Now Up to Date & Contact...PocketMac is a clear winner."

Pocket PC Magazine (June/July 2004)
Jim Karpen wrote...

"Installation of PocketMac was quick and easy...

I was able to go through the initial installation and use many of the main features without looking at the manual.

I was quite satisfied with PocketMac's ability to sync my Entourage data fast. The first time I synched my 950 contacts, the process took about 2 minutes. Synching the calendar also went smoothly.

I especially liked PocketMac's Web synching capability. It includes PocketMac Mobile Web, which is analogous to Mobile Favorites in Windows.

I also tried Avantgo and was impressed with that service. I can see why it's so popular and am now happy to be able to access it on the Pocket PC from my Mac.

One neat option of PocketMac is its ability to designate a Flash memory card as the location for synching where possible, such as putting photos on the card instead of into main memory.

...the application consistently works well...a good choice for Mac users."

SprintPCSInfo.com (June 15, 2004)
The first review they ever did was for PocketMac Pro 3.3. They wrote...

"The interesting design of PocketMac is something that is worth talking about. Instead of implementing a seamless one-click-no-options  zero-configuration system, similar to other programs for Mac, PocketMac provides an experience that is much more similar to Microsoft's ActiveSync.

PocketMac is so good Microsoft should buy it and re-brand it as ActiveSync for Mac. Really, it's that good.

Before PocketMac, I would tell Mac users to have some form of Virtual PC or some old PC laying around if they wanted to own a Pocket PC, but PocketMac handles just about every situation that you would need a PC to fix or handle or install something. The best part is, they let you try it before you buy."

MacWorld France (February 2004)
MacWorld France awards PocketMac Pro 4 out of 5 stars.

PC Magazine (February 17,  2004)
PC Magazine awards PocketMac Pro 4 out of 5 stars.

"...the release of PocketMac 3.0 should have Mac fans taking a hard look at Pocket PC 2003-based or Smartphone-based models the next time they purchase a handheld.

One of the joys of PocketMac is how well it works with standard Mac applications. During installation, it adds a folder to your default web browser bookmark list, where you can save web pages that you want synched later.

And Mac users who are allergic to anything Windows will love the optional theme which gives the Pocket PC interface a Mac OS look."

MacHome Magazine (January  2004)
In awarding PocketMac Pro 4 out of 5 apples, MacHome said...

"PocketMac 3, which began life as a shareware-like product we originally covered in our "Mobile Mayhem" feature (pages 28-37, June 2003), looks and functions more like Apple iSync. That's good news for Mac users who happen to prefer the PocketPC platform over the more Mac-friendly Palm OS.

PocketMac 3 provides several new features. Chief among them is an ever-growing list of compatible device drivers, providing support for about 20 different PPCs. PocketMac now supports Bluetooth in addition to USB and Airport wireless connections. The upgrade is much more aware of all the different methods people use to keep their lives organized. Sync support for Microsoft Entourage, just about any Apple iLife application and even a couple of third-party information managers (such as Now Contact) make the product much more useful.

We liked opening Pocket Word and Pocket Excel documents directly on our Mac, editing them and saving them back to the Pocket PC without moving the files back and forth. PocketMac 3 is a real time-saver, which is especially important to those of us who carry way too many mobile devices around and still want to sync them up with our Macs. PocketMac does make life easier..."

"Setting up PocketMac Pro is fairly simple. Install the software on your Mac and then set the preferences, which let you choose the particular Mac program you will be synchronizing with.

...synchronizing data went well for me.

...I had no trouble synching my 900 contacts.

...the PocketMac team has put a lot of time into it [PocketMac Pro], and even though they're a small company they try hard to offer good technical support.

As a Mac user who has longed to have my Pocket PC communicate and sync with my PowerBook, I'm grateful for the efforts of the PocketMac team and am delighted to have this software."
